Hempstead, NY - The Wagner College field hockey team dropped a non-conference contest at Hofstra 2-0 on Friday afternoon.
In a scoreless first quarter, the Seahawks outshot the Pride 3-0 with one shot on goal. Wagner also generated three penalty corners while holding Hofstra to zero.
In the second frame, the Seahawks tallied one shot but it was the Pride who was able to find the back of the net as they took a 1-0 lead with 4:38 remaining in the first half.
Hofstra went on to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, junior goalkeeper Sarah Trask was able to make two saves to keep the game at 1-0 entering the fourth quarter.
In the final frame, Hofstra was able to extend its lead to 2-0 to preserve the victory.Â
The Seahawks will be back in action on Friday, September 8 at the Wagner College Field Hockey Complex when they welcome Holy Cross.
