Baseball Drops Second Game Of Merrimack Series, 8-7

North Andover, MA - The Wagner baseball team dropped the second game of its three-game set against Merrimack on Friday, 8-7. The Warriors won on a walk-off single in the ninth inning.

Merrimack put Wagner in an early 4-0 hole, but the Seahawks dug themselves out over the next two innings of offense.

Junior Ariv Camacho gave Wagner its first run of the game with a single in the second inning. In the next inning the Seahawks secured their first lead of the day.

Senior Griffin Selby recorded his second home run of the series to tie the game up at four. Camacho then drove in the team's fourth run of the inning on a sacrifice fly to take a 5-4 lead.

While the Warriors tied it back up in the bottom of the fifth inning, the next half inning saw senior David Melfi snatch the lead back.

An opposite field double from the three-hole hitter scored two runs to put Wagner up 7-5. But the home team would not stay down, eventually winning on a walk-off.

Every Wagner starter recorded a hit in the loss.

The Green & White will look to rebound in the series finale on Saturday at 1:00 pm. The Seahawks will be searching for their fourth series victory in conference play.
