Troy, NY - The Wagner baseball team lost its rubber match in the Albany series on Sunday.

The Seahawks got off to a fast start with two runs in the first, but ceded seven runs in the following two innings to put themselves in a difficult hole to climb out of.

Seniors Griffin Selby and DiMaggio Cazares were responsible for the first inning runs.

Senior Ruben Del Castillo slowed down Albany's offense as Wagner struggled the generate runs. Del Castillo allowed just two runs across four innings of work.

Selby added two more RBIs to his weekend total in the seventh and ninth innings, and senior David Melfi drove in a run in the ninth.

Graduate student John LaPointe closed out the game with two shutout innings.

Wagner will finish its six-game non-conference stretch with a return to SIUH Community Park against Saint Peter's on Wednesday, May 3. The Seahawks lost 16-11 against the Peacocks on April 26.
