Brooklyn, NY – The Wagner College women's basketball team fell to St. Francis Brooklyn in the Northeast Conference (NEC) quarterfinals on Monday evening.
Fifth year senior
Kem Nwabudu tallied six of the Wagner 11 points in the first quarter while bringing in four rebounds as the Green & White led 11-8 after the first 10 minutes.
In the second quarter, Wagner shot 8-16 behind eight points from redshirt junior
Alex Cowan. The Bowie, MD native shot 3-3 from the floor as Wagner outscored St. Francis Brooklyn 18-16.
Wagner took a 29-24 lead into halftime,
The Terriers opened the second half on a 7-0 run to take a 31-29 lead and never looked back. They held the Seahawks to eight points in the third quarter. The Terriers took a 43-37 lead into the final 10 minutes.
The Terriers' lead grew to as large 11 in the fourth quarter as they were able to hold off the Seahawks in the final stanza.
Alex Cowan led the way offensively for Wagner with 19 points as
Kem Nwabudu chipped in 18 points and eight rebounds.
