Brookville, NY – The Wagner College men's lacrosse team dropped a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) contest to LIU, 13-6, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Sharks jumped out to a 1-0 lead 36 seconds into the game before Freshman
Jake Mitchell tallied a goal 37 seconds later to tie the game. The Sharks closed the first quarter on a 3-0 run to take a 4-1 lead into the second quarter.
LIU outscored Wagner 3-0 in the second quarter to take a 7-1 lead into halftime.
The Seahawks tallied two of the first three goals of the second half as graduate student
Jack Brady and
Jake Mitchell scored for Wagner. The Sharks responded with a 3-0 run to end the third.
After LIU opened the fourth quarter on a 2-0 run, Wagner closed the game on a 3-0 run as

Patrick Caldwell and senior
Benjamin Stewart scored for the Seahawks. The run wasn't enough as Wagner fell 13-6.
Wagner will be back in action on Saturday, April 1 when they travel to Loudonville, NY to take on Siena at 3:00 pm.
