Cambridge, MA & Providence, RI – The Wagner College women's water polo team picked up four wins this weekend at the Bruno Classic hosted by Harvard and Brown.
In the first game of the weekend, Wagner took care of Gannon 20-5 behind 11 different goal scorers. Sophomore
Carlota Alonso, and freshmen
Martina Parisi and
Magali Ogg each tallied hat tricks in the win.
Senior
Skye Nankervis and freshman
Maggie Pike each tallied three assists in the win.
Against Saint Francis U, Wagner again put up more than 20 goals with a 22-4 victory. Wagner had four players tally hat tricks in
Martina Parisi,
Skye Nankervis,
Carlota Alonso and senior
Abbey Simshauser.
Simshauser and Alonso each tallied four goals while freshman goalkeeper
Francesca Sena tallied seven saves and two steals.
Against Bucknell, Wagner again eclipsed the 20-goal mark with a 21-7 victory.
Magali Ogg and
Carlota Alonso each netted hat tricks against the Bison as graduate student
Malia Josephson and
Skye Nankervis each found the back of the net twice.
In the tournament finale, Wagner defeated Brown 8-6 to earn the weekend sweep.
Carlota Alonso tallied four goals while
Abbey Simshauser netted two goals.
The Green & White leave the Bruno Classic with a five-game winning streak.
Wagner will have next weekend off before traveling to Bloomington, IN to take place in the Indiana Classic on February 18 and 19.
