Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College men's lacrosse team fell to Fairfield 14-7 in its season opener on Saturday afternoon at Hameline Field.
Both teams traded goals in the first quarter as sophomore
Ethan Sieb netted the first goal of the season for Wagner. Senior goalkeeper
Danny Brady stopped four shots in the opening frame.
In a high scoring second frame, the Stags outscored the Seahawks 5-3. For Wagner, Freshman
Jake Mitchell netted his first career goal for Wagner as he tallied two in the frame. Sophomore
Conor Julich also netted his first career goal in the second.
In the third quarter, Fairfield outscored Wagner 3-1,
Danny Brady stopped five shots in the frame. Graduate student and tri-captain
CJ Sweitzer tallied his first career goal for the Green & White.
In the fourth quarter, Fairfield outscored Wagner 5-2.

Danny Brady stopped 14 shots in the contest, his 14 saves which brings his career total to 387.
Ethan Sieb led the way for Wagner offensively with two goals and one assist.

Wagner will travel to West Point, NY to take on Army on Tuesday, February 21 at 3:00 pm.
