Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College men's basketball team suffered a 66-48 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday at the Spiro Sports Center.
Wagner was led by senior
Ja'Mier Fletcher's 13 points, with senior
Brandon Brown adding 11 points.
Freshman
Keyontae Lewis added six points off the bench, with Lewis and Fletcher combining for 19 points on and efficient 7-9 shooting.
Both teams went back and forth in a closely contested first half, as a
Zaire Williams three gave the Seahawks a 27-26 lead with 4:10 to play in the first half.
The Knights led 37-33 at the half, used a 10-0 run midway through the second half to build a double-digit lead and never looked back, as the two teams split the regular season series.
With the loss, Wagner falls to 13-12 overall and 6-8 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play, while the Knights improve to 16-13 on the year and 9-5 in NEC action.
The Seahawks will honor their seniors ahead of Thursday night's matchup against Stonehill before closing out the regular season at Saint Francis U next Saturday.
