Boston, MA - The Wagner College women's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest, 63-46 on Tuesday evening.
The Huskies outscored the Seahawks 13-5 in the first quarter, freshman Kiera Edmonds tallied three rebounds in the opening 10 minutes.
The Green & White fought back in the second quarter behind junior Semie Brar's 11 points. Brar shot 3-4 from three-point range and 4-5 from the floor to cut into the deficit. Brar's efforts brought Wagner to within four points with 5:08 remaining in the second. As a team, the Seahawks shot 5-11 from the floor in the second as the Huskies took a 31-19 lead into halftime.
Wagner outscored Northeastern 17-14 in the third quarter behind 7-15 shooting from the field and 2-4 shooting from three-point range. Kiera Edmonds and Semie Brar each tallied six points in the fame. Wagner cut the deficit to single digits numerous times in the third, the closest the Seahawks came was trailing by eight points with 5:24 remaining in the frame.
Northeastern took a 45-36 lead into the fourth quarter.
Northeastern went on to outscore Wagner 18-10 in the fourth quarter, Semie Brar led the way for Wagner with six points in the final 10 minutes.
Semie Brar tallied a career-high 23 points on 9-13 shooting from the field and 5-8 shooting from three-point range. Kiera Edmonds chipped in nine points and seven rebounds.
Wagner will be back in action on Monday, November 27 when they welcome Iona to the Spiro Sports Center at 7:00 pm.
