Lewisburg, PA - The Wagner College men's water polo team competed against Fordham in the semifinals of the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Championships, on Saturday, November 18 at the Kinney Natatorium at Bucknell University.
On the first day of the tournament, the Seahawks took down the George Washington Revolutionaries, 15-14, to advance into the semifinal round.Â
Wagner would take on the Fordham Rams, who were the top-seeded team heading into the Championships.

Sophomore Laszlo Strasser scored the opening goal for the Seahawks. He was joined by junior Kyle Chambers and senior Ryan Lanier, all three of whom scored in the quarterfinal matchup against George Washington. Freshman Vince Varga scored the first goal of the second quarter. Strasser would find the back of the net in the second, and freshman Vince Varga notched the last one of the half. Wagner trailed Fordham at the half, 12-6.
In the third quarter, Wagner would add five goals to their tally. Strasser completed the hat-trick along and came away with his fourth goal, Chambers and Varga scored their second, and captain junior Andrew Cowie also scored in the period. Vince Varga would add his own hat-trick in the fourth, scoring the only goal of the quarter for the Seahawks.Â
Next up, Wagner will conclude their weekend with a consolation game against Bucknell on Sunday, November 19th, with ball-drop set for 10:30 am.
