Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College men's water polo team picked up two victories against Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) opponents Mount St. Mary's and George Washington at the Spiro Sports Center, on Saturday.
In the first game of the day, the Seahawks would prevail over the Mountaineers, 18-12. Then, Wagner would defeat the Revolutionaries, 15-11, to improve to 14-11 in the regular season, and 5-3 in conference play.Â
Game 1 Results: Wagner 18 - Mount St. Mary's 12
Wagner jumped out to a 4-2 lead after one quarter of play. Junior Kyle Chambers, sophomore Laszlo Strasser, senior Barnabas Vidovics, and junior Mattia Bognolo were responsible for the Seahawks points of the opening frame. Bognolo would find the back of the net once again in the second quarter. The Australian native would be joined by freshman Vince Varga and sophomore Eliot Alvarez in the scoring column. Alvarez would score twice in the second quarter, bringing Wagner's lead to 8-4.
The Green & White would spread the wealth in the third quarter, as five different Seahawks scored. Chambers, Strasser, and Varga all found their second, with Bognolo completing his hat-trick during the frame. Junior Kristian Stanczewski tallied his first of the game during the frame as well. Bognolo would continue to pour it on, as he would score his fourth and fifth of the game during the final quarter. Chambers would add his own hat-trick to the game's totals, as freshman Maayan Nahari added the cherry on top to lift the Seahawks over the Mountaineers, 18-12.

Game 2 Results: Wagner 15 - George Washington 11
After one quarter of competition, Wagner and George Washington were knotted up at four goals a piece. Chambers would net two goals during the quarter, with help from senior Zsombor Gyemant and junior Luis Camino Sosa who both scored during the frame. In the second quarter, the Seahawks would gain some separation from the Revolutionaries, as Strasser scored his first of the game, and senior Ryan Lanier would put away two goals from in-front of the net, to give Wagner a 7-5 lead at half.Â
Wagner would outscore George Washington, 6-5, in a back-and-forth third quarter. Chambers would score goals number three and four during the third frame, with Strasser adding his second of the competition. Vidovics etched his name in the scorecard with his own goal, along with Bognolo and graduate student Ben Zovickian. Zovickian would put away a fast-break goal, on a soft floater, to get past the keeper. The Green & White would maintain their lead during the final frame of play. Vidovics would punctuate the Seahawks' day with one last goal, and Wagner would earn a 15-11 victory at the Spiro Sports Center.

Next up, the Seahawks will be honoring six seniors prior to their game against Bucknell, at the Spiro Sports Center, on Sunday, October 29. Ball-drop is set for 3:00 pm.
