Fairfield, CT - The Wagner men's and women's swimming & diving team dropped both of its respective matchups at Fairfield on Saturday. The men fell to the Stags, 200-94, while the women picked up their first loss of the season, 186-102.
Fifth year Olivia Bishop led the Seahawks with two individual victories. The reigning NEC Swimmer of the Week placed first in the 200-meter freestyle and the 50-meter freestyle.
Freshman Rebekka Luoto, the reigning NEC Rookie of the Week, also added onto her impressive season debut with an individual victory in the 200-meter breaststroke. Luoto clocked in at 2:39.40.
Sophomore Kaan Nalçaci earned his first individual victory of the season after a strong rookie campaign in 2022-23. The Ankara, Turkey native placed first in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 57.32. He also placed second in the 200-meter backstroke.
Sophomore Aura Vilarrasa and freshman Jasu Ovaskainen rounded out the first place finishes for Wagner on Saturday. Vilarrasa earned the top spot in the 400-meter freestyle, while Ovaskainen placed first in the 100-meter butterfly.
Up next for the Green & White is a tri-meet with NEC member CCSU and Southern Connecticut State on Saturday, November 4.
