Princeton, NJ – The Wagner College women's water polo team wrapped up its second weekend of competition with three wins at the Princeton Winter Tournament.
The Seahawks earned victories over UC San Diego, Bucknell and Princeton while falling to UC Santa Barbara.
Led by five goals from senior
Abbey Simshauser, the Seahawks took the first game of the weekend with a 15-9 victory over UC San Diego. Reigning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Defensive Player of the Week freshman goalkeeper
Francesca Sena stopped 15 shots against UC San Diego.
Against UC Santa Barbara, the Seahawks dropped a tight contest by a score of 12-11. Reigning MAAC Offensive Player of the Week sophomore Carlotta Alonso tallied a team-high five goals in the loss.
On Sunday, Wagner opened the last day of the tournament with a convincing 14-6 win over Bucknell.
Carlota Alonso led the Seahawks with four goals against the Bison while Frencesca Sena tallied 14 saves.
Against Princeton, Wagner used a 6-2 first quarter advantage to earn the victory.

Francesca Sena tallied 12 saves in the win.
Wagner went 2-1 against teams ranked in the College Water Polo Association (CWPA) top-25 with wins over UC San Diego and Princeton.
Next weekend, the Seahawks will travel to Providence, RI to take part in the Bruno Classic on February 4 and February 5.
