Women’s Basketball Travels To Merrimack On Monday

North Andover, MA – The Wagner College women's basketball team will travel to Merrimack for a Northeast Conference (NEC) contest on Monday, tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 pm.

Last Time Against Merrimack
Behind a career-high 22 points from graduate student Zhaneia Thybulle, the Seahawks earned a 63-61 win over Merrimack on January 6 at the Spiro Sports Center.
 
Along with 22 points, Thybulle tallied five rebounds and four steals.

Redshirt junior Alex Cowan poured in 15 points and seven rebounds against Merrimack.

Last Time Out
Wagner defeated LIU 80-63 on January 8 to move to 3-0 in NEC play.

Junior Julia Fabozzi poured in a career-high 22 points while senior Drayah Heyward also tallied a career-high 20 points in the win.
 
Heyward also had five rebounds and five steals against LIU.

Cowan put together a strong performance in her second consecutive game with 15 points against LIU.

NEC Up To Date
Wagner is one of three 3-0 clubs in the NEC with FDU and Sacred Heart as the Seahawks are defeating opponents by an average of 20.0 points in NEC play.

Wagner is 3-0 in NEC play for the fourth time in program history and is seeking its first 4-0 start in NEC play since 2001-02.

Wagner is 4-1 in its last five games and is undefeated in the year 2023.
 
The Seahawks own the best home winning percentage in the NEC.
 
Seahawks In The NEC
Wagner's defense has been lockdown since the start of NEC play. The Seahawks have allowed just 49.7 PPG in their first three league games.

The NEC preseason favorites own a +10.0-turnover margin during NEC play after forcing 26.0 turnovers per game.

The Seahawks are the highest scoring team in the NEC with 64.2 points per game.Wagner also leads the NEC in assists per game with 14.4 and 201 total assists. The Seahawks also have a conference-best +4.93 turnover margin.

Wagner also ranks second in the NEC with 136 steals and 9.7 per game.

Zhaneia Thybulle leads the NEC with 60 total assists and 4.3 assists per game. Her 4.3 assists per game are ranked 81st in the nation. The Elmont, NY native led the NEC in assists last season.

Drayah Heyward ranks second in the NEC with 2.2 steals per game and 31 total steals. The Newark, NJ native led the NEC in steals last season.

Wagner has four players in the top-15 steal leaders in the NEC with Drayah Heyward, Zhaneia Thybulle, Alex Cowan and junior Marisa Sanchez-Henry averaging at least 1.2 steals per game.

Alex Cowan's 11.9 points per game leads Wagner along with being sixth in the NEC.

Thybulle's 10.4 points per game are tied for 10th in the NEC.
