Women’s Tennis Set To Begin Fall Season At ITA Regionals

Princeton, NJ - The Wagner women's tennis team will open its fall season at the ITA Regionals on Friday, September 30.

This summer, Wagner College welcomed new director of tennis and men's team head coach, Jeff Menaker. Menaker arrives on Grymes Hill after concluding the 2021-22 season as head coach of the men's tennis team and associate head women's coach at Lehman College.

Along with Menaker, Lena Babunski joins the coaching staff as the head coach of the women's team. A native of Belgrade, Serbia, Babunski arrived on Grymes Hill following a four-year tennis career at Miami University in Oxford, OH.

The Seahawks gained two newcomers. Freshmen Samantha Bentsianov from Staten Island, NY, and Jasmine Lin from Great Neck, NY. Mia Groetsch will be the lone senior on the women's team this year. The juniors include Tara Dakic and Gabrielle Perraudin. Representing the sophomore class will be Paula Ysabelle UY.

The green and white will head to Princeton, NJ, to participate in the ITA Regionals hosted by Princeton University. After a two-week break, the women's team will be back in action at Hofstra on October 14.
