Lewisburg, PA – The Wagner men's water polo team concluded the Bucknell Invitational with loses to Fordham and Bucknell.

In a high scoring opening frame, both teams traded 10 goals. With Fordham holding a 5-4 lead late in the quarter, sophomore
Andrew Cowie tied the game at five as time expired in the frame. Along with Cowie, junior
Barnabas Vidovics scored twice for Wagner. Junior Zsombor Gyémánt, and freshman
Laszlo Strasser also scored for Wagner in the opening eight minutes.
The second quarter followed the same theme as the first as both teams traded two goals each.

Adam Wuthrich made crucial saves to keep the game level heading into the halftime intermission.
Fordham outscored Wagner 4-3 in the third quarter as seniors
Karl Lovett and
Shaked Yacoby scored for the Seahawks along with sophomore
Mattia Bognolo.
With Fordham holding an 11-10 lead heading into the final quarter, both teams scored one goal as Fordham held on to claim a 12-11 victory.

Bucknell outscored Wagner 4-2 in the opening frame as
Laszlo Strasser and Barmabas Vidovics tallied goals for Wagner in the opening eight minutes.
Wagner clawed back in the second quarter after Bucknell opened up a 6-2 lead. Wagner answered with goals from Zsombor Gyémánt,
Mattia Bognolo and
Laszlo Strasser as the game entered the second half with Bucknell holding a 7-5 advantage.
The Seahawks outscored the Bison 2-1 in the third quarter as
Barnabas Vidovics and
Ryan Kerry scored goals to bring the game level at seven. After Bucknell regained the lead, the game entered the final quarter with the Bison holding an 8-7 lead.
Bucknell outscored Wagner 3-2 in the final frame to preserve the 11-9 victory.
The losses to Fordham and Bucknell bring Wagner to 0-2 to start Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) play this season.
With next weekend off, Wagner will return to action on Thursday, September 29 at Fordham.
