Princeton, NJ – The Wagner men's water polo fell to Santa Clara, 10-7, on Sunday afternoon.
The loss wraps up the Princeton Invitational for the Green & White.
Santa Clara put a stamp on the contest in the opening stanza when they outscored Wagner 3-0.
Wagner battled back in the second quarter as they tallied two goals as junior
Barnabas Vidovics and senior
Karl Lovett found the back of the net.
Down 6-2 heading to the second half, Wagner outscored Santa Clara 3-1 to bring the game closer. Baranabas Vidovics scored his second goal of the game while senior Olivér Fodor and freshman
Laszio Strasser scored in the quarter.
The run by Wagner brought the game to 7-5 heading into the final eight minutes.
In the fourth quarter, Wagner tallied two consecutive goals to cut the Santa Clara lead to 8-7 behind goals from Olivér Fodor and sophomore
Mattia Bognolo. Santa Clara closed the game on a 2-0 run to preserve the victory.
Along with his two goals, Olivér Fodor drew eight exclusions and recorded one steal.

Kevin Roach and sophomore
Adam Wuthrich combined for six saves in goal for the contest.
Wagner returns to action next weekend at the Bison Invitational in Lewisburg, PA.
