Geneva, NY- The Wagner men's lacrosse team fell 12-3 to Hobart on Saturday at Boswell Field at David J Urick Stadium.

The Seahawks fall to 3-6 (1-3 NEC) on the season while Hobart is now 3-5 (1-3 NEC) on the year.

Stephen Dwyer opened the game's scoring, coming in from behind the goal and flicking it past Hobart goalkeeper Kevin Holtby.

Hobart then scored three unanswered in the opening frame to take a 3-1 lead into the second quarter. Wagner goalkeeper
Danny Brady recorded his 300th career stop early in the first quarter. The junior made nine saves in the first 15 minutes of play.

Less than a minute into the second period, Anthony Dattellas netted his seventh goal of the season to extend Hobart's lead to 4-1. Derrek Madonna followed up two minutes later with his third goal of the afternoon to make it a four-goal game with 12:49 to go in the half.

Dattellas scored Hobart's fifth straight goal to go up 6-1.
Jack Brady ended the drought, scoring his ninth goal of the year and making it a 6-2 game.

The Statesmen answered quickly with a Ryan Archer to take a 7-2 lead with 3:23 left in the half. Wagner was then able to take advantage of a man-up opportunity, capitalizing with
Nick Martini's first goal of the season to make it 7-3 Hobart.

Dattellas' third goal of the day just three seconds to go in the half gave the Statesmen an 8-3 advantage heading into the break. Â

Hobart got off to a strong start in the second half, scoring three straight goals. Archer's third goal of the game came 30 seconds into the third. Tommy Mott and John Herlihy added goals for the Statesmen to take an 11-3 lead with 6:15 to go in the frame. Herlihy scored again for the lone goal of the fourth quarter to close out the scoring and make it a 12-3 game.

The Seahawks are back in action next Saturday at Hameline Field against Mount St. Mary's at 12:00 p.m.
