Men's Track And Field Posts Six IC4A Qualifying Times At Larry Ellis Invitational

Princeton, NJ - The Wagner men's outdoor track and field team concluded the two-day Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton University at Weaver Stadium. 
 
In total, the Green & White had six IC4A qualifying marks. 
 
Jason Marchese was the top finisher for the Seahawks, as he posted a third-place performance in the 400H, finishing with a time of 53.56, which is now the top time on the Northeast Conference (NEC) Outdoor Performance list. 
 
Teammate Josiah Cadet, who finished behind Marchese in fourth, moved up to second on the NEC Performance List in the event, as he clocked in with a time of 54.04.  
 
William Cuthbertson moved to the top spot on the NEC Performance List in the 800m following his fourth-place performance this weekend, as he finished with a time of 1:49.20. 
 
Joshua Cadet posted an IC4A mark in the 100m with a time of 10.88 while rounding out the top-20 competitors in the event. In addition, he moved to eighth overall in the conference. 
 
Thomas Corel placed seventh overall in the 400m with Wagner's third IC4A qualifying time of 48.14. He remains the conference leader in the event, following his school-record time of 48.00 set back at the Monmouth Season Opener (March 25). 
 
Michael Hubert and Muhammad Qadri were among the top-20 finishers in the 800m, as Hubert placed 11th overall with a time of 1:54.60 while Qadri checked in at 1:56.08. For Hubert, he moves up the rankings, as he stands eighth on the league list in the event while Qadri is among the top-15. 
 
In the 1500m, Johnny Sokoll concluded the event 13th with a time of 3:57.51, but improved on the conference list, now sitting in eighth. 
 
Robert Guidicipietro and Anthony Bentivegna turned in top-25 performances in the 5000m, as Guidicipietro posted the fourth IC4a qualifying mark, crossing the finish line in 14:32.69. Bentivegna finished in 23rd with a time of 14:42.62. 
 
Guidicipietro moved to third on the league list, as the Seahawks occupy the first five spots in the 5000m with Bentivegna leading the way with a time and school-record of 14:29.72. 
 
Newcomer Jean Uminski finished the 5000m run (unseeded) with a time of 15:01.13. 
 
Yannik Gerland rounded out the top-15 performers in the 3000m Steeplechase, ending the race in 9:18.52. The senior runner is now third among all NEC competitors after his finish this weekend. 
 
The 4x100 relay team, composed of Eric Griffin, Joshua Cadet, Cyril Babcanec, and Marches took ninth overall with an IC4A mark of 41.93 and move to third behind CCSU (40.9) and Mount St. Mary's (41.45). 
 
Reigning Northeast Conference (NEC) Field Athlete of the Week, Michael Pepe, took ninth with a finals mark of 50.36m in the discus, which also qualifies under the IC4A standards. 
 
Ryan Lane cleared 6.94m in the long jump to finish tenth. Lane moved to sixth overall on the NEC list while Kharlin Watkins soared 1.96m in the high jump, moving into a tie for fifth in the circuit. 
 
Corey Durden was among the top-20 in the shot put, finishing with a heave of 15.19m. 
 
The Seahawks will gear up for the two-day Virginia Challenge, hosted by ACC member, the University of Virginia, on April 22-23. In addition, several members of the team will also compete at the Rider Invite on Saturday, April 23.
