Softball Extends Win Streak To Seven With 4-1 Win Over CCSU

Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College softball team extended its win streak to seven games on Sunday with a 4-1 win over Central Connecticut.

The Seahawks completed the three-game sweep over the Blue Devils, allowing only one run in 19 innings on the weekend.

With the win, Wagner improves to 5-3 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play and remains perfect at 7-0 at home.

Senior Eve Harvey earned her second complete game victory of the weekend in the circle. Less than 24 hours after pitching 10 innings, Harvey only allowed one run on four hits while striking out six Blue Devils to pick up her seventh win of the season.

The Seahawks took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning on a two-run home run by senior Mackenzie Vogler.

In the fifth, a triple by junior Bianca Worthy set up an RBI single by senior Nora Conway to make it 3-0.

Next up, an RBI double by sophomore Keaghan Ward brought home Vogler to give the Seahawks a 4-0 advantage in the sixth.

The Blue Devils scored one run in the seventh, but it wasn't enough, as Wagner earned the 4-1 win to sweep the series.

Offensively, Wagner combined for eight hits, as seven different Seahawks recorded at least one hit on the day.

Next up, Wagner will take on Merrimack on Wednesday at the Lower Field, with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 pm.
