Cambridge, MA – The Wagner women's water polo team claimed extended the team's winning streak to 12 games with victories over RV California State East Bay and #14 Indiana.

The first game of the tournament for Wagner began with junior
Skye Nankervis winning her first of three sprints in the contest which set up the opening goal from classmate
Abbey Simshauser. Wagner would go on to finish the opening quarter with six goals as sophomore
Andrea Arias finished the first quarter with four goals while classmate
Mar Navarro and
Abbey Simshauser tallied one goal each in the quarter.
The Seahawks carried the momentum into the second quarter as Simshauser and Navarro tallied their second goals of the contest. Freshman
Carlota Alonso tallied two goals in the quarter while senior
Pip Nash and
Skye Nankervis got on the scoresheet. The Green & White took a 12-3 lead into the intermission.
The second half began with
Skye Nankervis winning her third sprint of the contest before Wagner outscored California State East Bay 5-2 in the third quarter. Fifth-year senior and senior
Sofia Diaz Alvarez got on the scoresheet for the first time while
Abbey Simshauser and
Mar Navarro each completed their hat tricks.
Pip Nash tallied her second goal of the afternoon in the third quarter.
The Seahawks took a 17-5 lead into the final stanza and held on to claim a 20-6 victory after fourth quarter goals from
Skye Nankervis and freshmen
Lizzy Koerper and
Emily Geld.
Andrea Arias spearheaded the Seahawk attack with four goals on five shots while
Abbey Simshauser and
Mar Navarro each recorded hat tricks.
Malia Josephson notched one goal to go along with five assists. Senior goalkeeper and reigning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Defensive Player of the Week
Kristina Bell stopped five shots in the win.

The Seahawks began the second game of the day with a
Skye Nankervis sprint victory, her second consecutive game with three sprint wins. The Seahawks got off to a fast start against the Hoosiers with goals from
Malia Josephson and
Andrea Arias. As Indiana cut the Wagner led to 2-1,
Sofia Diaz Alvarez doubled the Wagner lead to 3-1 to end the opening frame.
The Hoosiers outscored the Seahawks 3-1 in the second quarter and held a 4-3 lead before
Skye Nankervis tied the game with three seconds left in the half.
One goal from each team in the third quarter brought the game to a 5-5 stalemate heading to the final stanza,
Abbey Simshauser netted the Wagner goal in the third.
Andrea Arias starting the scoring in the fourth quarter with her second goal of the game to give Wagner a 6-5 lead before Indiana tied the game at six.
Sofia Diaz Alvarez put a stamp on the contest for Wagner, giving the Seahawks a 7-6 win and their 12th consecutive victory.
Kristina Bell stopped nine shots including two penalties in the victory while
Sofia Diaz Alvarez scored twice on four shots to go along with four steals.
Skye Nankervis scored one goal to go along with three steals and three sprint wins.
The Seahawks will close out the Harvard Invitational on Sunday, March 6 when they battle #23 Brown at 3:30 P.M.
