Staten Island, NY- Aidan Clark netted his second straight hat trick to lead the Wagner men's lacrosse team to its first win of the season against NJIT, 7-5, in the home opener at Hameline Field on Saturday afternoon.

Stephen Dwyer added two goals for the Seahawks and
Jack Brady and
Matt Morris each found the back of the net once in Saturday's win.

NJIT got off to a fast 3-0 lead on two Gavyn Willson goals and then a Beck Gozdenovich goal. The Seahawks then answered with four straight goals to go in front 4-3 at the half.

Wagner got on the board with Morris ripping a shot from beyond midfield for his first goal of the year.

The scoring continued with Clark's first of the afternoon. Just nine seconds later, Wagner raced down the field off the faceoff and Dwyer found the back of the cage.
Tyler Lawton received credit for the assist.

Clark's second goal of the game came with 3:19 remaining in the half to give the Seahawks a 4-3 lead going into the half. Lawton tallied his second assist on the day.

The Green & White added another goal to start the second half and go up 5-3. Clark riffled a shot off the feed from Dwyer to collect the hat trick.

NJIT then made it a one goal game before the end of the third on an Owen Corry goal.

Jack Brady scored his fourth goal of the season to open the fourth quarter scoring, making it 6-4 Seahawks.

Wagner never looked back as Dwyer netted a man-up goal to give him seven total on the season and give the Seahawks a 7-4 lead.

Goalkeeper
Danny Brady made 14 saves in goal. Wagner as a team posted a season-high 43 shots with 25 coming on frame. The Seahawks also caused a season-high 14 turnovers in the victory over the Highlanders.

Wagner is back in action next Saturday at Hameline Field when the Seahawks welcome Mercer at 11:00 a.m.
