From The Dugout… Head Coach Craig Noto
" We spoke this week about the importance of playing the game hard every pitch. Conference play always brings out the best in competitors. It's what you work for all year. The guys today showed tremendous grit on a day where we made some mistakes but showed the mental toughness to overcome them and pick up the win. Still a lot of work to do, but, it is a good start to the weekend for our team."

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the third inning. Cazares reached on a one-out single as the ball trickled back into fair territory after squibbing across the foul line for a bit before he beat the throw with a head-first slide.

Mimnaugh walked as Cazares stole third, but an overthrow by CCSU's Sam Loda allowed Cazares to score the game's first run.

Wagner tacked on an additional run in the fifth. Cazares continued to be the catalyst, as he singled through the left side before moving to second on a walk to Mimnaugh. Maimu Kobayashi reached on a throwing error by the second as Cazares scored on the play, as Wagner went ahead 2-0.
Central Connecticut cut the deficit in half, 2-1, in their half of the seventh. Redahan reached on an infield single to short bout was forced out second. Good sent a single to right-center that plated home pinch-hitter, Kyle Gordon.

The Blue Devils were looking to continue the scoring threat until Toporek was able to strike out Jay DeVito to end the seventh.

The next batter, Mimnaugh, followed with a single to right to score Cazares, making it 4-1. A base hit by Kobayashi gave the Green & White runners on first and second as CCSU went to the bullpen.
