Lawrenceville, NJ – The Wagner College softball team dropped its midweek doubleheader to Rider, falling 3-1 in game one before dropping game two by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday.

Madi Silber followed Russ with another base hit, but the Seahawks were unable to capitalize on the scoring threat.
Rider took a 1-0 lead in the first inning before adding runs in the third and fifth inning to earn the victory.
Wagner combined for six hits in the contest, as Russ led the way with two hits.

Eve Harvey was charged with the loss after going the distance, striking out two batters in the process.

The Seahawks started fast in game two, as consecutive hits by freshman
Kate Wolf and sophomore
Scarlett Lloyd two runners on base. Next up, Russ was hit by a pitch to load the bases, but the Seahawks could not get an early run across.
Rider took a 1-0 lead in the fourth on an RBI double by Lani Moreno.
The Seahawks fought back, as a leadoff single by freshman
Brooke Wood put the tying run on base to start the seventh inning.
Wagner advanced the tying run to third base with two outs, but was unable to tie the game late, as the Broncs came away with the sweep.
Lloyd, who was named an NEC Prime Performer for her performances last week, turned in another great pitching performance, striking out seven batters in six innings, but was charged with the loss.
Next up, Wagner will open Northeast Conference (NEC) play this weekend at Mount St. Mary's on Saturday and Sunday.
