Men’s Basketball Falls At Army West Point

West Point, NY – The Wagner College men's basketball team suffered a 75-64 loss at Army West Point on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Seahawks fall to 4-3 on the year, while the Black Knights improve to 4-5.

Junior DeLonnie Hunt led the Seahawks with 17 points, while graduate student Jahbril Price-Noel added 10 points off the bench. Senior Brandon Brown contributed nine points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Both teams went back and forth early on, before a 13-0 Army run gave the Black Knights a 29-16 advantage with 7:15 to play in the first half.

The Seahawks fought back and cut the deficit to five on a three by sophomore Javier Ezquerra with 1:04 to play in the period, before Army took a 39-30 lead into the break.

In the second half, the black Knight quickly extended their lead to double digits, but Wagner once again answered, as a traditional three-point play by junior Rahmir Moore capped off a 6-0 run and made it a 49-40 game with 15:17 to play.

The Seahawks cut the Army lead to six on a three by Hunt with 2:20 to play that made it 70-64, but it wasn't enough, as the Black Knights pulled away for the victory.

The Seahawks held a 22-19 advantage in bench points and 13-5 edge in second chance points, but were outscored 23-5 at the free throw line.

Next up, Wagner will travel to Fordham on Tuesday, with tip-off between the Seahawks and Rams scheduled for 7:00 pm on ESPN+.
