Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College men's basketball team outscored Gwenedd Mercy 54-23 in the second half to earn its third consecutive victory.
The victory over the Griffins wraps up the non-conference slate for the Seahawks' season.
In a close first half, the Seahawks outscored the Griffins 35-32 behind 11 points from junior
DeLonnie Hunt.
Along with Hunt, sophomore
Javier Ezquerra tallied seven points and three rebounds in the opening half.
Wagner opened the contest up in the second half behind 21-31 shooting from the field and 7-11 shooting from beyond the arc.
10 Seahawks tallied points in the second half freshman
Julian Brown who tallied nine points in the final 20 minutes.
Five Seahawks scored in double figures as
DeLonnie Hunt led the way with 13 points and five assists.
Javier Ezquerra and
Julian Brown tallied 12 points each.
Wagner will begin its Northeast Conference (NEC) slate on Thursday, December 29 against LIU at the Barclays Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
