Senior Season (2022-23): Appeared in 13 games in his first year on Grymes Hill … Scored a season-high 10 points against Central Connecticut on January 20 … Grabbed nine rebounds throughout the season.

 
Hughes joins the Seahawks after a productive three-year career at Omaha, where he appeared in 85 games. Last season, Hughes averaged 9.0 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game, while scoring in double-figures in 13 games. Last December, Hughes recorded a four-game double-figure scoring streak highlighted by a career-high 19 points vs. Texas A&M - Corpus Christi.
 
Coach Copeland on Hughes: "Darrius is a veteran athlete whose experience will help us on and off the court. Adding another player who knows what it takes to win at this level was very important to our staff and we are happy to add a player of his caliber to our team."
