Men’s Basketball Earns 62-57 Road Win Over NJIT

Newark, NJ – Graduate student Jahbril Price-Noel's game-high 19 points led the Wagner men's basketball team to a 62-57 road win over NJIT.

With the win, the Seahawks improve to 4-2 on the season, while the Highlanders fall to 1-5 this year.

Price-Noel's 19 points came on 7-8 shooting from the field, including a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc. Freshmen Keyontae Lewis was the second Seahawk in double digits with 10 points.

Trailing 29-27 at the half, the Seahawks turned the game around in the second period. Sophomore Javier Ezquerra opened the frame with three straight threes to give the Green and White a 36-33 lead three minutes into the second half.

A pair of Price-Noel free throws gave Wagner a ten-point advantage at 54-44 with 6:47 to play, but NJIT fought back to make it a one-point game with two minutes to play.

Two possessions later, a clutch basket by senior Brandon Brown put the Seahawks ahead 58-55 with under a minute to play.

Following a pair of made free throws, junior Rahmir Moore sealed the victory with a steal and a layup as Wagner came away with the victory.

Both teams were tied with 38 rebounds apiece, with Wagner holding a 27-17 advantage in bench points.

Next up, Wagner will travel to Army on Saturday, December 3, with tip-off set for 1:00 pm.
