Women’s Basketball Set To Welcome Non-Conference Opponent Hofstra

Staten Island, NY – The Wagner women's basketball team will welcome non-conference foe Hofstra at the Spiro Sports Center on Saturday.

Last Time Out
The Seahawks dropped a non-conference contest to A-10 opponent Fordham on Sunday, November 20.

Junior Julia Fabozzi tallied seven points to go along with six rebounds as freshman Angelie Ricard tallied seven points as well.

Graduate student Zhaneia Thybulle tallied seven points and three assists.

Multiple Contributors
Through the first five games of the season, fifth year senior Kem Nwabudu and sophomore Lina Loceniece are averaging double figures in scoring. Nwabudu is averaging 10.6 while Loceniece is averaging 10.0.

Zhaneia Thybulle is averaging 8.8 points per contest while redshirt junior Alex Cowan is averaging 8.6.

Nwabudu is averaging a team-high 6.6 rebounds per game while Alex Cowan is snagging 4.4 boards per game and a team-leading 13 offensive rebounds.

Zhaneia Thybulle's 4.2 assists per contest leads the Seahawks as the Elmont, NY native has tallied 21 through the first five games of the season.

Seahawks Up To Date
The Seahawks will welcome Hofstra with a 2-3 record, four out of the first five games for Wagner have been played away from the Spiro Sports Center. as the Green & White are 2-2 away from Grymes Hill.

With six non-conference games remaining, Wagner will have three of them at the Spiro Sports Center.

NEC play will begin on January 2 when the Green & White travel to Loretto, PA to take on Saint Francis U.

Kem Nwabudu Eclipses 1,000 Career Points
In Wagner's home opener on Sunday, November 13, Kem Nwabudu tallied her 1,000th career point.

The Elmont, NY native became the 26th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark.

Scouting The Pride
After beginning the season 0-2 after losses at Rutgers and Cleveland State, the Pride have bounced back to win two consecutive contests.
 
Hofstra defeated North Carolina Central in its home opener before defeating Alliance in its most recent contest.
 
The Pride were picked 13th in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) preseason poll as Rosi Nicholson was picked as a Honorable Mention All-CAA performer.
 
Nicholson was a All-Defensive perfomer last season as Hofstra gained LIU transfer and graduate student Brandy Thomas.
 
Thomas was a First Team All-NEC performer last season.

Wagner will continue non-conference play when they welcome Saint Peter's to the Spiro Sports Center on Thursday, December 1 at 7:00 P.M.
