Bronx, NY – The Wagner men's water polo team fell to Navy in the fifth-place game at the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) tournament to claim sixth place.
This weekend, the Seahawks fell to Salem in the quarterfinals before defeating McKendree in a consolation game to advance to the fifth-place game before falling to Navy in the contest.
Wagner opened the contest on a 2-0 run behind goals from senior Olivér Fodor and junior Zsombor Gyémánt.
Following the opening goals by Wagner, Navy ended the first quarter on a 4-0 run to take a 4-2 lead into the second quarter.
The Midshipmen outscored the Seahawks 6-3 in the second quarter as they took a 10-5 lead into halftime.
Wagner went on to outscore Navy 5-4 in the third quarter but the Midshipmen took a 14-10 lead into the final eight minutes.
Despite outscoring Navy 4-3 in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks fell to the Midshipmen 17-14.
In his final game as a Seahawk Olivér Fodor tallied four goals while drawing 11 exclusions.
