Princess Anne, MD – The Wagner women's basketball team earned a 72-60 non-conference victory at Maryland Eastern Shore.
Wagner outscored Maryland Eastern Shore 17-11 in the first half behind 2-5 shooting from beyond the arc. Both three-pointers were made by sophomore
Lina Loceniece.
In the second quarter, Wagner continued its long-range attack as they went 3-4 from three-point range. Redshirt junior
Alex Cowan, graduate student
Zhaneia Thybulle and freshman Angelie Ricard each hit a three in the frame.
Wagner went on to take a 35-22 lead heading into halftime as fifth year senior
Kem Nwabudu led all Seahawks with eight points.
The Seahawks opened the second half on an 8-0 run as
Lina Loceniece started the half with a layup and then hit three-pointers on back-to-back possessions to open up the lead for Wagner.
The Green & White took a 53-42 lead into the final quarter.
The Seahawks put a stamp on the contes in the fourth quarter as they shot 7-11 from the field behind 10 points from
Kem Nwabudu in the frame.
Nwabudu led all Seahawks with 19 points to go along with five rebounds.
Alex Cowan tallied 14 points, six assists and six rebounds in the win.
Lina Loceniece tallied 15 points while
Zhaneia Thybulle scored 11 points and dished out five assists.
The Seahawks will return to action on Sunday, November 20 when they travel to Fordham at 1:30 P.M.
