Somerset, NJ - With the closing of the cross country season the Northeast Conference (NEC) announced their All-Conference, All-Rookie, and Coach of the Year awards on Friday afternoon.

Head Coach Joe Stasi earned Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year honors in his 27th season at Wagner. This is Stasi's seventh Coach of the Year award. Coach Stasi has led the men's program to three NEC Championship titles in the last four years.

In all, the Wagner men's cross country team had four honorees and Coach of the Year while the women's program had one harrier named to the all-conference list.  

Representing the men's team this year were Jean Uminski, Dominic Palermo, Anthony Bentivegna and Justin Morris. Uminksi went on to take the individual title at the NEC Championships October 28 with an 8K time of 24:35.9.

Senior Dominic Palermo makes his third straight appearance on the all-conference team. The senior helped the Seahawks claim the NEC title by placing 3rd with a time of 25:01.6 in the 8K.

Junior Anthony Bentivegna makes his second straight appearance on the all-conference team, rounding out the top-5 at the conference championships with a time of 25:07.5. 

Justin Morris was named NEC Rookie of the Year and received his first all-conference recognition. Morris was named NEC Rookie of the week twice this season for his efforts at the Paul Short Run and the IC4A Championships. Morris placed 13th at the conference championships with a time of 25:42.0. 

Representing the women's team on the all-conference list was freshman Laura Trenado. Trenado placed 12th in her first ever championship appearance, clocking in at 18:46 to lead the Seahawks. Freshman Peyton Miller also earned a spot on the All-Rookie team round out Wagner's honorees.
