Staten Island, NY - The Wagner field hockey team earned a 4-2Â Northeast Conference (NEC) win over Saint Francis U.
Wagner opened the scoring 39 seconds into the contest when sophomore
Liselotte Koop found the back of the net on a pass from graduate student
Julia Cruces Pastorino.
Less than five minutes later, graduate student Agustina Debarbe doubled the Wagner lead. Her goal was assisted by
Liselotte Koop.

With Wagner holding a 2-0 lead after the first quarter,
Agustina Deharbe tallied her second goal of the game 84 seconds into the second quarter to give Wagner a 3-0 lead.
With one minute remaining in the first half, senior
Kira Mordvinov got on the score sheet with a deflection into the back of the net.
The Seahawks took a 4-0 lead into halftime.
Saint Francis scored the lone goal of the third quarter to cut the Wagner lead to 4-1 ten minutes into the third quarter. Saint Francis added a goal to cut the Wagner lead in half with 4.5 seconds remaining in the contest.
Despite not scoring in the second half, the lead Wagner built in the first half was enough to earn the victory. The reigning NEC Defensive Player of the Week Daisy
Daisy Ruhle stopped five shots in her sixth win of the season for the Seahawks.
The win brings Wagner to 2-0 in NEC play.
The Seahawks will return to action on Sunday, October 9 when they welcome Stonehhill at 1:00 P.M.
