Staten Island, NY – The Wagner field hockey team earned a share of the Northeast Conference (NEC) title with a 1-0 victory over LIU in the regular season finale.
Prior to the contest, the Seahawks honored eight seniors in the program.
The Seahawks outshot the Sharks 4-0 in the opening frame with two of the shots being on target. Wagner also registered three corners in the opening 15 minutes but were unable to find the back of the net.
Wagner held LIU without a shot in the second quarter as the Green & White registered two shots to go along with one corner opportunity.

With Wagner holding a 1-0 lead heading to the fourth quarter, LIU had a penalty stroke opportunity one minute into the quarter as graduate student goalkeeper
Daisy Ruhle made a diving stop to keep the Seahawks in front.
Ruhle and the Seahawks would hold on to claim a 1-0 victory, a program-best 11th win of the season and a program-best sixth conference win.
The Seahawks cap off the regular season with a 11-6 overall record and a 6-1 conference mark.
Wagner earned a share of the NEC regular season crown for the first time in program history.
The Seahawks will compete in the NEC tournament for the second consecutive season beginning on Friday, November 4 at the Wagner College Field Hockey Complex.
