Ithaca, NY – Wagner College field hockey dropped the first game of their weekend road trip to Cornell by a score of 2-0.
The first half finished scoreless with starting goalkeeper
Daisy Ruhle making four saves in the first period alone as she would finish with seven saves in total. Both Cornell goals were scored in the third quarter and were scored two minutes apart. The first Big Red goal was buried by Natalie Stone and the insurance goal was added by Caroline Ramsey. Cornell out-shot the Seahawks 16-5 and the Seahawks had just one shot on frame in the contest.
Senior Laura Van Hamburg led Wagner with two shots including the only shot on frame against Cornell net-minder Aerin Park while fellow senior
Julia Cruces Pastorino tallied one shot in the match. The Green & White also had three players receive yellow cards in the contest:
Kira Mordvinov,
Agustina Deharbe, and
Natalie Rocuskie.
The Seahawks will next travel to Philadelphia, PA where they will battle against La Salle University on Sunday at 12:00 P.M.
