Field Hockey Welcomes 9 Newcomers for the 2021 Season

Staten Island, NY – Wagner head field hockey coach Nicole Miller added 9 newcomers to the roster for this 2021 fall season after losing four players to graduation and transfers. Nine of the newcomers are freshman and one of the additions was via transfer.
 
The incoming class consists of Sarah Trask (Plymouth Meeting, PA), Sarah Worst (East Islip, NY), Alyssa Slocum (Windsor, VT), Shea Crowther (Northampton, MA), Emma Lofstedt (Durban, South Africa), Rebecca Desiderio (North Cardwell, NJ), Abigael McCue (Greeley, PA), Liselotte Koop (Hattem, The Netherlands), and Natalie Rocuskie (Mechanicsburg, PA).

A 2021 graduate of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School and a native of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, she played her club field hockey for the WC Eagles.
 
Sophia Worst

A 2021 graduate of East Islip High School and a native of East Islip, New York. Sophia was 1st Team All Suffolk County, EIVFH MVP, team leader in points, 1st Team All-Tournament in 2021. A member of Strong Island Field Hockey and played in the National Futures Championship and the AAU Junior Olympic Games.

A 2021 graduate of Windsor High School and a native of Windsor, Vermont. Her club team was named Element Athletics.

A 2021 graduate of Northamption High School and a native of Northampton, Massachusetts Shea was in the National Honors Society and the Honor Roll. She also played in the Under Armour Select game and her club team was called Element.

Our Lady of Fatima High School
 

 
A graduate of Our Lady of Fatima High School and a native of Durban, South Africa, she participated in indoor and outdoor hockey in high school and was named team captain for the 2020 season. In 2019 she was named the most promising hockey player of the year and in 2020 was named the sportswoman of the year. Emma played her club field hockey for the Riverside Hockey Club. she is the daughter of Carmen and Lindsay and the sister of Jamie (15). She chose Wagner for the new field hockey program with a lot of potential the academic opportunities and location.
 
Rebecca Desiderio

A 2021 graduate of West Essex High School and a native of North Caldwell, NJ. A two sport athlete in high school she NFCHA senior impact team award, UNICO scholarship for athletics, and SEC best teammate award. She also won the coaches award for WEFH 2021 season, coaches award for WELAX 2021 season, NJIGLL All- Star Honorable Mention (East Division), Freedom Conference team of the year for WE lacrosse (NJ.com). Rebecca was a 2x State Champion, 3x Sectional Champion,  3x County Champion, All-Essex County Honorable Mention (2018). In the classrom she was named NFCHA National All- Academic Squad (2019-2020, 2020-2021).
 
 
Abigael McCue

A graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School and a native of Greeley, PA. A three-sport athlete (field hockey, track & swimming) she excelled for four years under field hockey coach Ellie Skinner. Her senior season she was voted most coachable, offensive player of the year, and was a league champion. A four-year member of the National Honor Society, she was a coach for the special Olympics in high school. She will be majoring in Nursing at Wagner and is the daughter of Kevin and Erica.
 
Liselotte Koop

A graduate of Gymnasium Celeanum High School and a native of Hattem, The Netherlands, Liselotte chose Wagner for the amazing team with a lot of potential and the location being close to New York City. She plans to get her degree in Business Administration. She was named captain twice in high school while reaching the regional finals three times. Outside of school she played for HC Zwolle while being promoted to landelijke subtopklasse. The daughter of Patrick and Danielle, she has played field hockey since she was 5 years old.
 
 
Natalie Rocuskie

Mechanicsburg, PA
Cedar Cliff High School
UMass Lowell


A transfer from UMass Lowell, she chose Wagner for the small school feel near a big city, the opportunity to get a great education and to be part of the growing field hockey program. She will be entering the business program. Four-year varsity team member at Cedar Cliff High School. A Four-time Offensive Player of the Year, she set the school record for most career points, finishing with 159 (69 goals, 21 assists). A Two-time First Team Mid-Penn Divisional All-Star, Pennlive All-Star Honorable Mention as a senior, and selected to play in the Under Armour Select Field Hockey Showcase as a junior. Natalie also played lacrosse, she is the daughter of Scott and Tina One older sibling, Nathan (27)
