John Stewart Named Head Women's Triathlon Coach

Staten Island, NY – With more than 15 years of coaching experience to his name, John Stewart has been named the new head coach of the Wagner women's triathlon team ahead of the Fall 2021 season.

Stewart has been a USA Triathlon Certified Coach for nearly 20 years, while overseeing a slew of triathletes during that time. He's the head coach and founder of Race Day Triathlon Coaching based out of Brooklyn. Through Race Day, he's worked with hundreds of triathletes of all ability levels, training for local sprints, regional events, and Ironman Championships. Additionally, he's also the head coach and founder of the Brooklyn Stingrays Swim Club. Since its 2014 beginning, the Swim Club has grown from 25 to 75 members, and into the top fiftieth percentile nationally.

Another venture founded by Stewart is the Berkeley Carroll Masters Swim Club, which has provided foundational swims for triathletes and swimmers since its inaugural year in 2004. Stewart's coaching experience also includes spending the last 14 years as an assistant coach of the varsity swim team at Berkeley Carroll, a prep school in Brooklyn.

His time with the Brooklyn Triathlon Club dates back to 2005, and includes leading swim clinics, as well as club workouts. He has also worked with the Brooklyn Stingrays Open Water Swim Team since 2018.
