Bethlehem, PA – The Wagner College men's outdoor track and field team competed at the Lehigh University Happy Easter Races at the Goodman Track and Field Complex on Saturday.
In total, the Seahawks produced four first-place finishes. In the 110 hurdles,
Josiah Cadet secured the top spot with a time of 15.11. Also, he posted a third-place performance in the 400 hurdles with a time of 55.07.
The 4x400 relay squad, made up of
Cyril Babcanec,
Joshua Cadet,
Thomas Corel, and
William Cuthbertson took home first-place honors with a time of 3:18.88.
Michael Pepe produced the third first-place finish for the Green & White, launching the discus 48.81m.
Lutfi Pocesta sealed the victory in the hammer throw while rewriting the program's record book as he threw the hammer 59.74m. The mark surpasses the previous record, held by Pocesta when he tossed the hammer 56.83 at the 2018 IC4A Outdoor Championship.
Track Results
- Thomas Corel took second in the 400m finals with a time of 49.35.
- Wagner placed four among the top-ten in the 800m finals as William Cuthbertson led the way with a second-place showing, finishing at 1:53.93.
- Joshua Cadet finished fourth in the 100m with a time of 11.07.
- Babcanec and Logan Murphey competed in the 200m. Babcanec finished with a time of 23.14 and Murphey placed among the top-20 with a time of 23.91.
- In the 1500m, Robert Guidicipietro checked in with a time of 4:03.39 while Qadri finished at 4:13.67.
- In the 3000 Steeplechase, Dominic Palermo and Paul Siconolfi were among the top-ten finishers in the event, as Palermo turned in a finals time of 9:35.63 while Siconolfi concluded the race in 10:26.73.
Field Results
- Corey Durden and Michael Pepe went second and third, respectively, in the shot put, with Durden placing second with a throw of 15.09m and Pepe finishing up at 14.52m.
- Andrew Ramsammy placed fifth in the high jump with a leap of 1.85m.
- In the long jump, Ryan Lane finished fifth with a finals mark of 6.58m while Ramsammy placed seventh at 6.30m.
- Lane also registered a fourth-place showing in the triple jump with a mark of 13.15m.
Relay Results
- The 4x100 team made up of Babcanec, Joshua and Josiah Cadet, and Murphey, placed second with a time of 42.23.
Wagner will have a quick turnaround as the Seahawks are scheduled to compete at the Metropolitan Outdoor Championships on Friday, April 9, and Saturday, April 10.
