Three School Records Fall At Wolfie Invitational

Stony Brook, NY – William Cuthbertson, Trausti Thorsteins, and Robert Guidicipietro each rewrote the school record books to highlight the Wagner men's outdoor track and field performances at the Wolfie Invitational, hosted by Stony Brook University on Friday. 
 
Both Cuthbertson and Thorsteins bested their previous records in the 800m and 1500m, respectively, while Guidicipietro broke a four-year mark in the 5000m. 
 
Cuthbertson took home top honors in the 800m with a time of 1:48.66, besting his record of 1:51.26, which he set back on May 11, 2019, at the IC4A Track & Field Championship. Teammate Luke Cunningham turned in a top-ten performance, finishing sixth with a time of 1:53.51. 
 
Thorsteins took third overall in the 1500m, crossing the finish line in 3:45.61. For the Reykjavik, Iceland native, he shaved off 2.35 off his previous school record, in which he set back at the IC4A Track & Field Championship. 
 
Guidicipietro took home the win in the 5000m finals, clocking in with a time of 14:31.33. The Staten Island, NY native is now the school record holder in the event, besting the mark set by Liam Harris four years ago, in which Harris posted a finals time of 14:43.08 back on April 22, 2017, at the Larry Ellis Invitational. 
 
The quartet will reconnect with their teammates as the Seahawks gear up for the two-day Northeast Conference (NEC) Outdoor Track & Field Championship, which will commence on Saturday, May 1, and run through Sunday, May 2 at Bryant University.
