Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College men's lacrosse team dropped their Northeast Conference (NEC) and home opener Monday, March 8, to the Saint Joseph's University Hawks by a score of 17-5.
Graduate student
Philip Buque posted his third straight multi-goal game for the Seahawks, falling a goal short of a third straight hat trick. Junior

Nick Martini all added a goal for Wagner. Junior
Tyler Lawton dished out a pair of assists and graduate student
Nic Ancona added an assist as well.
Defensively, junior
Tommy Scarpello and sophomore
Brendan Higgins both registered four ground balls; Higgins and freshman
Giovanni Armocida each caused a turnover.
Ryan Doran had five goals and Matt Bohmer netted four to lead St. Joe's.
How It Happened
Killcommons scored the first goal of the game just under three minutes in off a feed from Lawton, who added a second helper on Buque's first of the day later in the quarter.
Martini and White struck near the end of the third and beginning of the fourth quarters, respectively, the first collegiate goals for each. Buque tallied his second goal of the day and eighth of the year in the final
minute off a feed from Ancona.

The Seahawks continue NEC play Saturday, March 13, with a 1:00 p.m. road date against Merrimack.
