Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women's lacrosse team's 2022 schedule is set, head coach
Kelly McPartland has announced, highlighted by seven games at Hameline Field.
The Seahawks will look to claim their third Northeast Conference (NEC) championship in the last four seasons along with qualifying for their eighth consecutive NEC championship game.
Wagner opens the regular season on the road at Drexel (Feb. 12). The Green & White's home opener will be on February 19 against Fairfield. Following their first game at Hameline Field, Wagner will hit the road for four consecutive contests. The Seahawks will travel to Manhattan College (Feb. 23), the University of Vermont (Feb. 27), Lehigh University (Mar. 5) before closing the road trip at Hofstra on March 8.
Following their trip, Wagner opens a three-game homestand. The Green & White will host Colgate (Mar. 12), Siena (Mar. 23) before opening NEC play on March 26 against Central Connecticut State.
Wagner will begin a stretch of three consecutive NEC contests, first against LIU in Brookville, NY on March 30 before Saint Francis comes to Grymes Hill on April 2. The final game of this three-game stretch will be against Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, MD on April 6. This contest will be the first matchup since the Mountaineers denied the Seahawks their third consecutive Northeast Conference title as Mount St. Mary's defeated Wagner 9-8 in the NEC Championship last season.
The contest against the Mount opens a three-game road trip for the Green & White, following their trip to Maryland, the Seahawks will test themselves against non-conference opponent Rutgers (Apr. 4) before closing the trip against Merrimack (Apr. 16).
The Seahawks will welcome NEC foe Sacred Heart to Grymes Hill (Apr. 20) before concluding non-conference play at Howard (Apr. 23). The Seahawks will close the 2022 regular season at Hameline Field against Bryant (Apr. 30).
The 2022 Northeast Conference Tournament will commence with the semifinals on Friday, May 5 and the championship match slated for Sunday, May 7.
