Wagner College Set To Host NEC Field Hockey Tournament This Weekend

Wagner College will host to the Northeast Conference (NEC) field hockey tournament for the second time in three years this weekend.

The no. 1 seed Fairfield will take on no. 4 Rider on Friday, November 5 at 11:00 A.M. to open the tournament while no. 2 Wagner will battle no. 3 LIU at 2:00 P.M. The winner of these contests will square off in the NEC Championship game on Sunday, November 7 at 12:00 P.M.

All games of the 2021 Northeast Conference Field Hockey Tournament will be broadcast live and free of charge on NEC Front Row.

Tickets will be available the day of the event at the Wagner College Field Hockey Complex. Ticket prices are $10 for adults while children under the age of 12 and students from NEC institutions are free with proof of a school ID. Parking for the tournament is $10 with parking available in the Hameline Field parking lot.

The winner of the NEC Tournament receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The 2021 NCAA Field Hockey selection show will air on November 7 at 7:00 pm ET.

In their third season of NEC competition, the Seahawks have qualified for the NEC Tournament for the first time after finishing the regular season with a 5-2 conference mark. Under head coach Niki Miller, Wagner has won four games in a row, including a 4-3 overtime win over Lehigh in the regular season finale on Sunday.
