Men's Swimming & Diving Competes In First-Ever Meet Against Iona On Saturday

New Rochelle, NY - The Wagner men's swimming & diving team competed in its first-ever meet on Saturday, as the Seahawks swam against the Iona College Gaels.

While the final score favored the Gaels (167-28), it was a chance for Wagner to get accustomed to competition.

The 400-yard medley relay team, composed of Adrian Aguirre, Tristan Lee, Matt Dingess, and Dylan Egan finished second after posting a time of 3:48.25.

Danny Connell placed fourth overall in the 1000-yard Free, finishing in 11:07.46 and also n the 500 with a time of 5:23.28.

Dingess concluded the 200-yard freestyle in 1:55.88 and also competed in the 200 yard Fly, as he finished in 2:04.12. Aguirre posted a pair of third-place finishes as he touched the wall in the 50 Free with a time of 22.27 and 49.73 in the 100 Free.

Lee clocked in with a time of 2:04.69 in the 200 Yard IM while Derek Whyte competed in the 200 Backstroke as he posted a time of 2:10.74.

Egan swam in the final individual race of the competition, as he placed third in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:19.12.  In the final event of the day, the 400 Freestyle Relay, the quartet of Whyte, Connell, Lee, and Egan posted a time of 3:32.64.

The team will have two weeks until its first-ever home meet as the Seahawks welcomes the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers to the Spiro Sports Center on October 30 at 11:00 a.m.
