Albany, NY – The Wagner College field hockey team dropped its fifth consecutive decision on Sunday, falling by a score of 4-0 to the No. 20 Albany Great Danes. Their record now sits at 1-5 on the season, heading into Northeast Conference (NEC) play.

The Great Danes were led by senior midfielder Dana Bozek, who recorded one goal on a team leading seven shots, five of which were on target, and one assist. Accompanying Bozek in the goal column were forwards Katie MacCallum and Mackenzie Hilditch, as well as midfielder Baylee Burghardt.

Wagner, who has been outshot in every game on the season, failed to record a single shot on target in the game and would go on to be outshot by a total of 29-1 in the game. Their lone shot attempt came from freshman midfielder Hannah Meyer, her team leading 24th shot on the season.

While the Seahawks failed to get anything going on the offensive side of the field, defensively they stood very strong against a top-ranked opponent. Graduate goalkeeper Annabel Zandvoort recorded a total of 14 saves on the day, playing a full 60 minutes for the first time in a Wagner jersey.

The Seahawks will be back in action this Friday as they begin conference play against the Rider Broncs back on Grymes Hill. Play is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Wagner College Field Hockey Complex and streaming will be available on NEC Front Row.
