Staten Island, NY – The No. 18 Wagner women's water polo (24-8; 9-0 MAAC) remains unbeaten in Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) league play after defeating Iona 16-5 on Sunday morning.

Malia Josephson was the lone scorer in the second stanza for either team, setting the score at 9-1 in favor of Wagner entering into the final half of play.
The Gaels kicked off the third quarter winning the sprint and then notching their second goal of the game. Sjogren added her fourth and fifth goals in the third period, as Iona found the back of the net once more. Hardy and Diaz Alvarez each tallied their second goal before the sound of the horn for a score of 13-3 at the end of three periods.
In the final eight minutes, Hardy registered her third goal of the game for a hat trick. Henshaw and Nankervis found the back of the net once more, respectively, as Iona secured two more goals. Sophomore
Katherine Campbell finished with seven saves in the 16-5 victory over the Gaels.
With the win, the Seahawks remain undefeated in MAAC play entering into their final weekend before the MAAC Championships. Wagner will compete on April 13-14 against La Salle, Siena, Villanova and Virginia Military Institute in Philadelphia, PA.
