Staten Island, NY – The No. 18 Wagner women's water polo (23-8; 8-0 MAAC) remains unbeaten in Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) league play after defeating Marist (16-12) and St. Francis Brooklyn (24-9).
Wagner 16, Marist 12:
The Red Foxes led the Green & White at the end of the first period by a count of 3-2, with junior
Jacqui Sjogren and freshman
Sofia Diaz Alvarez scoring one goal apiece.
In the second stanza, the Seahawks took the lead at 8-6, notching six goals to Marist's three, led by sophomore
Malia Josephson (2), Sjogren, Diaz Alvarez, sophomore
Savannah Henshaw and redshirt junior
Kristy Donkin.
The sophomore trio of Henshaw, Josephson and
Daisy Nankervis, along with Diaz Alvarez, each added one more goal apiece in the third quarter. The Red Foxes found the back of the net four more times for a score of 12-10 at the end of the three periods of play.
In the fourth and final eight minutes, Nankervis registered two more goals while senior
Erica Hardy and Donkin tallied one goal each, respectively.
Sophomore goalie
Katherine Campbell blocked five shots in the win, for a final score of 16-12.
Wagner 24, St. Francis Brooklyn 9:
10 Seahawks registered goals in the second game of the day, three of which scoring four tallies apiece in Nankervis, Diaz Alvarez and Josephson. Hardy and Sjogren added a hat trick each, respectively, while Donkin totaled two goals and dished out four assists.

Sarah Limanni, junior
Franciska Miló-Sidló, freshman Philippa Nash and freshman
Kyla Kleege each found the back of the net once apiece in the victory over the Terriers.
Sjogren drew an impressive six exclusions while Nankervis grabbed five steals. Both goalies competed in the matchup, as freshman
Mikaela Wells made three saves while Campbell added one block.
On Sunday, the Green & White will play Iona at 10:30 a.m.
