Women’s Lacrosse Caps Best Regular Season In Program History With An 18-5 Senior Day Victory Over Sacred Heart

Box Score

Staten Island, NY –
The defending Northeast Conference (NEC) champion Wagner women's lacrosse team capped its finest regular season in program history with an 18-5 Senior Day win over Sacred Heart on Sunday afternoon at Hameline Field.

Thanks to a complete team effort in today's victory over the Pioneers, the Seahawks will enter this week's four-team NEC Tournament riding a four-game winning streak and as winners of 12 of their last 13 games.

With the wire-to-wire win over Sacred Heart, the Green & White complete the regular season with a 13-3 record and a 6-1 league mark. The 13 wins extend the single-season regular season program record while the 6-1 conference mark ties a Wagner record.

The Seahawks jumped out to a 6-0 lead, built their lead to 12-3 at halftime, and never looked back. Sophomore Madeline Seims poured in five goals and added one assist to lead the way offensively but there were plenty of superlatives spread throughout the Seahawk lineup today.

Senior attackers Stephanie Roberts Megan Drum each finished with hat tricks while Roberts also added an assist, giving her a four-point day. Other major contributors for the Seahawks included senior attack Kelsey Savje, who exploded for four points on two goals and two assists, junior attack Stephanie Falcone (2g, 1a), sophomore midfielder Erin Kerstetter (2a, game-high 9 draw controls), and sophomore midfielder Victoria Tucci (3a).
Also hitting the scoring column for Wagner were senior defender Kirsten Monte, freshman midfielder Maria Henwood and junior attack Meghan Pendergast, while senior goalie Kelsey Fee was sharp throughout in recording eight saves.

SHU was led by Hanna Wise who finished with two goals.

Prior to today's opening draw, the Seahawks' eight seniors were honored in an on-field ceremony.
