Philadelphia, PA – The No. 18 ranked Wagner women's water polo team defeated La Salle (27-6) and Siena (23-8) on Saturday as the Seahawks are now just one win away from clinching the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) regular season title.
Wagner 27, La Salle 6:
The Seahawks dominated the Explorers from the jump, scoring 16 goals in the first half to La Salle's single goal.
Junior attacker
Jacqui Sjogren led the offense, tallying seven goals on 10 shots. Senior
Erica Hardy registered four goals while sophomore
Daisy Nankervis totaled a hat trick.
Five members of the Green & White found the back of the net twice each in junior
Franciska Milo-Sidlo, freshman
Sofia Diaz Alvarez, redshirt junior
Kristy Donkin, freshman Kristen Sacyznski and sophomore
Erin Weisert.
Freshman Philippa Nash, sophomore
Malia Josephson and sophomore
Savannah Henshaw each contributed one goal, respectively. Nankervis also dished out six assists in the win.
Wagner 23, Siena 8:
The Seahawks led Seina 15-3 at the end of the first half and continued to extending their lead in the final sixteen minutes of play.
Nankervis led the Green & White offensively, notching five goals. Four Seahawks scored hat tricks in Nash, Diaz Alvarez, Sjogren and Henshaw. Donkin, Milo-Sidlo, Josephson, Hardy, Weisert and sophomore
Serena Thurman each added one goal apiece. Sjogren also drew five kickouts in the win over the Saints.
With the victory over the Saints, the 2019 senior class of

Abby Irving,
Sarah Limanni,
Katelyn Traut and
Natalie Kayton became the winningest class in Wagner women's water polo history with 106 wins in their four year stint on Grymes Hill.
Wagner will conclude the weekend tomorrow, April 14, against Villanova and Virginia Military Institute. If the Seahawks are able to defeat just one of their two opponents tomorrow, they will clinch the MAAC regular season title and the no. 1 seed in the conference tournament next weekend.
