Colorado Rapids, CO – The Wagner College softball team dropped a 15-3 decision to Syracuse on Friday afternoon to start the Colorado State Classic.

Game two of today's slate between Wagner and Colorado State was postponed due to weather.

The Seahawks will play tomorrow's games against Dayton and Syracuse as scheduled.

In this afternoon's contest, which was also delayed due to weather, the Seahawks scored all of their runs in the bottom half of the second inning.

Trailing 5-0, a single by junior Amelia Van Orman and a walk by senior Jessica Carlucci set up junior Alyssa Tucker, who ripped an RBI single to right center to get the Green and White on the board.

Next up, back-to-back errors by the Orange doubled the Seahawks' run total and loaded the bases for senior Karen Prihoda, who earned an RBI on a sacrifice fly to left in cutting the deficit to 5-3.

Syracuse answered with two in the third, six in the fourth, and two in the fifth to put the game out of reach.

With the loss, Wagner moves to 2-7 on the season, while the Orange improve to 6-11.

Van Orman, Tucker, and junior Hannah Lewis were the only Seahawks to record hits on the day, while senior Ciera Luna split the pitching duties with freshmen Eve Harvey and Kayla Hooks, with Luna being charged with the loss.
