Women's Water Polo | 3/22/19
Staten Island, NY – The No. 15 Wagner women's water polo team hosts Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opponents in Virginia Military Institute (VMI), La Salle, Siena and Villanova this weekend.
Last time out, the 17-7; 2-0 Green & White finished 3-2 in California, defeating No. 20 Marist (11-10), Cal State East Bay (14-4) and No. 19 San Jose State (14-12) and falling to No. 12 Loyola Marymount (15-13 OT) and No. 15 Long Beach (13-7).
Freshman
Sofia Diaz Alvarez garnered her third MAAC Rookie of the Week honor after tallying 12 goals and 8 assists, combining for 20 points in five games over the weekend out west. The Spaniard posted a .406 shooting percentage and also grabbed seven steals.
Wagner will open the weekend on Saturday with a 12:00 p.m. matchup against VMI (13-5; 3-1) followed by a 4:30 p.m. swim-off against the La Salle Explorers (6-17; 1-3). On Sunday, the Seahawks compete against Siena (7-11; 0-3) at 9:00 a.m. before concluding the weekend against Villanova (9-9; 3-0) at 4:30 p.m.
The 4:30 p.m. game against the Wildcats will serve as senior day for the Green & White, as we recognize the accomplishments of six graduating seniors in

Erica Hardy.
